DEAD LEAVES is a dark, poetic meditation on suicide, selfmutilation
and the romantic themes of melancholy, mortality,
eternal love and loss.
The story's doomed hero Joey (played by Israeli actor Haim
Abramski) saves the body of his deceased lover, the beautiful
Laura (introducing Canadian top model Elisabeth Gondek) and
escapes on a self-destructive voyage through the industrial
highway landscape of the Tri-State area. Joey spends five nights
with the corpse and tries to preserve Laura's fading beauty in a
strange ritual. At the same time, he is haunted by the memories
of the happy and dark moments of their relationship ...
DEAD LEAVES is Constantin Werner's feature film debut.
